color study: rose quartz

Tuesday, July 19, 2016

it comes as no surprise that we're loving this dusty pink hue these days—it's one of pantone's selections for the 2016 color of the year. we're big fans of pink without the saccharine, and these peachy, mineral-esque tones feel just right. shop the color story here

leif x nallik

Tuesday, November 10, 2015

our exclusive + limited collaboration with jean balke of berlin-based jewelry label NALLIK is now available! shop the collection here. there are seven different styles in total, and each one only has anywhere from 1-3 pieces available — meaning some of these are entirely one of a kind, so if you have a favorite, snatch it up now! i personally picked out and sourced the stones for these pieces, so it's hard for me to pick a favorite — although i think if i had to choose, it'd be the hiddenite and vanadinite. it's probably the least photogenic of the bunch, but in person it's downright magical. — stacy

richard tuttle

Saturday, September 27, 2014
i'm traveling in maine with my parents this week, and in a tourism rest stop i picked up a flyer for an exhibition at the bowdoin college museum of art, richard tuttle: a print retrospective. i'll admit i wasn't previously familiar with tuttle's work, but i could tell it was something that'd be up my alley and my parents were kind of enough to drive two hours out of the way to go view the exhibit. it didn't disappoint — the works in the exhibition (over 100 of them) were more impressive than anything you can find of his online, i'm afraid, so if you find yourself in maine i recommend going to see it! it runs until october 19th. —stacy

Dinanda Nooney

Sunday, January 19, 2014

all taken in brooklyn in the late 1970's, these photos taken by a photographer named dinanda nooney are fascinating. the act of going into people's homes and taking photos seems like such a modern phenomenon, at least to me, and these photos are an unexpected reminder that it's been happening long before the selby and the popularity of design blogs. the ones above are some of my favorites, but there's over 500 of them!

introducing beth hoeckel

Wednesday, November 20, 2013

i couldn't be more excited about these two works by beth hoeckel. both originals ($325 each) and a pretty reasonable size at 16" x 20", either one of these would make a seriously great addition to art walls everywhere. shop beth's work at LEIF here, and then head on over to her website to take a look at all her work.
